FORCE OF EVIL: Debut Release Postponed
July 21, 2003FORCE OF EVIL, the new Danish all-star band featuring guitarist Michael Denner (ex-MERCYFUL FATE),guitarist Hank Shermann (MERCYFUL FATE),bassist Hal Patino (KING DIAMOND),drummer Bjarne Holm (MERCYFUL FATE),and vocalist Martin Steene (IRONFIRE),have been forced to postpone the "official" release of their self-titled debut album "until [they've negotiated] the last distribution contracts into place," according to a statement on the band's web site. In the meantime, copies can be purchased directly from www.forceofevil.net.
In related news, Steene's other band IRONFIRE are tentatively scheduled to play two Danish shows in late summer/early fall — in Albertslund (hosted by Club Black Moon) in early September, and at Tex in early October.
As previously reported, IRONFIRE have spent the past few months at Nifilheim Studios recording and mixing their brand new demo. 11 "breathtaking tracks" were reportedly laid down, "ranging from heavy mid-tempos to full-force tracks." Six of the songs have since been compiled on a promotional CD, which is currently being used to procure a new record deal.
The group, who issued two full-length albums through the Sanctuary/Noise label, are hoping to release the follow-up to 2001's "On The Edge" later in the year.
