Former BLACK SABBATH Singer TONY MARTIN: New Solo Album Pushed Back To 2006

August 17, 2005

Former BLACK SABBATH frontman Tony Martin has been forced to postpone the release of his new solo album, "Scream", until early 2006. Tony has posted the following message on his official web site regarding the delay:

"You might have been wonderin what the heck has been goin' on recently ... Well... so have I!!! The stupid theater show I was doin' earlier this year got pulled, as you probably know, specially if you had tickets!!!!! Half of the promised shows were cancelled and that meant my entire years work got fucked up. Not only did I miss out on the work promised for the [U.K. rock show known as WHOLE LOTTA METAL] tour but I'd turned down other stuff that I could have been doing AND it was then too late to revive the Tony Martin tour plans. Thus I have little happening tour wise until November. This coupled with the fact I'm not able to now finance the album I was working on really has left this year messed up.

"So, here's the new plan. I started to approach various record labels and have had some GREAT responses for what I'm doin'. So much so that it seems likely that I'll let the album go to a company instead. But that has changed the release plans also.

"Mostly the industry is working on November's releases right now. The problem with that is it's the season of silly songs!! The market gets pretty hooked on Christmas stuff like compilations etc. and that might just take the edge off my album. The most likely event will be to release the album at the end of January/February next year.

"Also the idea of a separate limited edition is likely to change, not sure how yet but I'm talkin through that one.

"Tour plans are in the making and I'll likely get up and running in November. The band is being tested right now with a few festivals and other things and I'm really happy with how it's goin'. The guys have pulled out all the stops and really knuckled down to the task. The set is very much SABBATH-based right now but I'm toying with the previous Tony Martin stuff as well.

"All in all, I'm still on it, but I couldn't be more frustrated, angry, anxious, and determined.

"I'm not dropping this, and I apologise for the delay.

"Some of you have contacted me for interviews, reviews of the album and signed photos which I haven't been able to get sorted just yet, but they are on my list of things to do and you aint been forgotten or ignored but I just had to re-arrange this year and try and salvage something positive from the trash left by the [WHOLE LOTTA METAL] fiasco.

"Hope to see you soon."
