Former IRON MONKEY Frontman Found Dead

June 24, 2002

MURDER ONE/ex-IRON MONKEY frontman Johnny Morrow was found dead in his apartment on Saturday morning, June 22nd, by his housemate, ex-IRON MONKEY guitarist Jim Rusby.

"We don't know what's happened," former IRON MONKEY drummer Justin Greaves told Metal Hammer. "He played on Friday with MURDER ONE and he was on fine form, and then his housemate Jim, our old guitarist, found him dead. He was waiting for a kidney transplant and was on dialysis, but he wasn't ill. He's one of the few people that I'd count as a real friend... I was even going to ask him to be my best man at my wedding, and he didn't know."

At the time of his death, Johnny had reportedly been working on an IRON MONKEY live/compilation album. The record will now be issued as a memorial to the singer.
