Former MEGADETH Guitarist JEFF YOUNG Contributes To BADI ASSAD's New CD

November 16, 2005

Former MEGADETH guitarist Jeff Young has co-written two compositions on Badi Assad's latest Deutsche Grammophon release, "Verde" (or "Green" in English). The album was released in America on September 13, 2005, having already charted in the Top 15 on Europe's World Music Charts. The two songs co-written by Jeff and Badi are track #2 ("Nao Adianta") and track #12 ("The Being Between"). The "Verde" disk is currently being featured at many Borders Books and Music listening stations and can be purchased online at Amazon.com along with Jeff and Badi's first acclaimed collaboration, "Chameleon".

On October 23, 2005, Young rode with Lance Armstrong, comedian Robin Williams and a peloton of some 6,500 cancer survivors and advocates in the 2005 Ride for the Roses. The Lance Armstrong Foundation's cancer research fundraising 100-mile bike ride took place in Lance's hometown of Austin, Texas.

"I wish to thank my friends and supporters for generously and selflessly donating over $3000," Young said in a statement. "Your donations to the Peloton Project help the LAF support people affected by cancer through advocacy, education, public health and research. Thank you so much.

"The Peloton Project is the LAF's grassroots fundraising and outreach initiative. Together, Peloton Project members raised more than $7.3 million for the LAF.

"Our collective goal was to raise $7 million to celebrate Lance's seventh Tour de France win and to support the LAF's mission to inspire and empower people affected by cancer.

"I will be riding with Lance and the Peloton Project again in 2006."
