GAIA EPICUS Bassist Killed In Car Crash

March 4, 2005

Bassist Yngve Hanssen of Norwegian power metallers GAIA EPICUS was killed in a car accident on March 2. "The message came as a shock on all of us and it's such a tragic and sad day," the band write on their web site. "Yngve only became 29 years old, and he will be missed as a fellow bandmate and friend."

As previously reported, GAIA EPICUS's second album, "Symphony of Glory", is scheduled for release this spring via Sound Riot Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Satrap" was recorded and mixed over a five-week period at Top Room Studios (TRISTANIA, VINTERSORG, BORKNAGAR) with producer Børge Finstad and will feature artwork by Michael A. Mueller (MEGADETH). The CD was mastered at Bazement Studios (MOB RULES, VANDEN PLAS, SYMPHONY X) in Germany.
