GONIN-ISH: 'We Want To Be A Legendary Band Such As CYNIC'
October 21, 2008Japanese progressive metallers GONIN-ISH will have their 2005 album "Naishikyo-Sekai" released in Europe on November 10 and in North America on November 11 via Season of Mist.
Commented Masashi Momota (keyboards): "Honestly we're still surprised Season of Mist gave us a chance to release our second album, because our vocalist sings in Japanese. Actually we sent a lot of samples to labels after having released our first album in 2000. However, none of them replied except for Season of Mist. In 2005, we contacted SOM again to let them know that 'Naishikyo-Sekai' was completed. It was a gate to the world. It took almost three years, but we are very happy that our sound will be delivered over the world. It's amazing! We didn't expect this situation when we started GONIN-ISH. We really appreciate Season of Mist. Thank you very much!!! He continued, "I know that our sound is not mainstream. However, I strongly hope this album will create a ripple leading to big waves. We want to be a legendary band such as CYNIC! To listeners: as I said, our lyrics are in Japanese. We think this is not a disadvantage because we use ancient words, so even Japanese listeners can't understand! How did we get cheers from Japanese listeners? We recommended this way! Close your eyes! Our songs present a most enchanting sight to you. Sometimes it is awe or fear or mystic. You can imagine freely, and each of you can make a story in your minds. That's the way to enjoy our sound! Try this!"
