GOREFEST Drummer Forced To Sit Out GRASPOP Appearance
June 24, 2005Reunited Dutch metallers GOREFEST have posted the following update on their official web site:
"This morning, Ed Warby [drums] cut his leg on a piece of broken furniture. Seven stitches were needed to stop the bleeding. The doctor advised against Ed playing Graspop Metal Meeting tomorrow. Eddy replied firmly: 'What has to be done, has to be done," so GOREFEST will appear on a metal festival with a taped in drummer once again!"
GOREFEST will enter Excess studio in Rotterdam, Holland in July with engineer Hans Pieters to record their fifth album. Mixing duties will be handled by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, ABORTED, DISBELIEF, BORN FROM PAIN) at Antfarm studio in Denmark in August.
As previously reported, on July 18, Nuclear Blast Records will be reissuing the entire GOREFEST back catalog, complete with unreleased tracks, demos and other rarities. The following three two-CD sets are currently scheduled for release:
* "Mindloss" (1996) + early demos
* "False" (1993) + "Erase" (1995) + demos
* "Soul Survivor" (1996) + "Chapter 13" (1998) + rarities
Everything will be remastered, and booklets will contain liner notes by renowned Dutch journalist and writer Robert Haagsma, along with many pics from the band's own private stash. In addition, Nuclear Blast will throw in a cool box in which to store all the CDs from the collection.
GOREFEST issued several CDs through the Nuclear Blast label in the early 1990s before switching to SPV for their last album, 1998's "Chapter 13".
