GRIFFIN Launch Search For New Vocalist

May 6, 2004

Norwegian metal act GRIFFIN have posted the following message on their official web site:

"As the old cliche goes, we've got some good news and we've got some bad news.... First of all we're happy to tell you all that [singer] Pete [Beck] is done with his surgery, has made a full recovery and is no longer in the hospital. That was the good news... The bad news is that while in good condition and health, his heart attack has made him reconsider his priorities and his life in general. His conclusion is that being a part of GRIFFIN, goin' on tour getting drunk and eating shitty fast food just ain't what the doctor ordered... So he has decided to relocate up in the mountains in a small cottage, quit the music business and just take it easy.

"The day he got out of the hospital he sent us the following message... 'Old Pete is tired.. I will not participate in any further recordings or live performances with GRIFFIN. I'm going away for a long time, and cannot be contacted by phone or email, so don't even bother. We've had a lot of fun, and I hope there's a lot more coming for you guys. New blood is good, so get someone else in the band, and promise me you wont quit because of me.'

"From the bottom of our hearts we wish him all the best, and we also wish to express out gratitude towards him for everything he contributed during his time with GRIFFIN. We are convinced that he has made the best decision for all parts, considering the recent events. We would like to stress however that GRIFFIN will not cancel any forthcoming gigs, or the recording of our new album that will see the light of day within this year. This band has had it's share of bumps in the road, but the engine is still running at full power, and we ain't planning on stopping any time soon!!

"With this said however, we are in need of a new singer and front figure before Wacken Open Air, and the recording of our new album. Auditions will be held the weekend 21-23 of May. Anyone who's interested, please contact us at [email protected] or call Marcus at phone 95054654."
