HELIX: 'Make 'Em Dance' Video Available
February 2, 2010"Make 'Em Dance", the new video from Canadian hard rock veterans HELIX, can be viewed below. The clip was shot last month in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada and features an appearance by former "Canada's Next Top Model" winner Rebecca Hardy. Guitarist Brent Doerner enlisted the help of the Conestoga College video department and director Francis Coral Mellon for the shoot, which marked the first time the band had filmed a video together since 1989's "Dream On".
Commented singer Brian Vollmer: "Unlike the '80s, where there was an obscene amount of money spent on videos, nowadays a lot of artists are getting exposure through homemade films launched on YouTube. . . So you have to use your brains instead of your wallet to get a good product."
HELIX's latest album, "Vagabond Bones", was released in Canada via Universal/Fontana and in the U.S. through Perris Records. Vollmer collaborated with Sean Kelly (CRASH KELLY) on material for the CD, which was mixed by engineer Aaron Murray.
"Vagabond Bones" track listing:
01. The Animal Inside (Won't Be Denied)
02. Go Hard or Go Home
03. Vagabond Bones
04. Monday Morning Meltdown
05. When The Bitter's Got The Better Of You
06. Hung Over But Still Hanging In
07. Best Mistake I Never Made
08. Make 'Em Dance
09. Jack It Up
HELIX has been active in the past several years with several releases.
The band's previous collection of original material, "The Power of Rock and Roll", came out in 2007.
