HIRAX: New Video Interview With KATON W. DE PENA
November 8, 2011Vocalist Katon W. De Pena of Californian thrashers HIRAX recently spoke to Puerto Rico's only online TV show, "Rock Spot Plus", about the making of the band's new video, "Broken Neck". You can now watc the chat below.
"Broken Neck" comes off HIRAX's "El Rostro De La Muerte" album, which was released in October 2010. It was the veteran band's first full-length since 2004's "The New Age Of Terror".
"El Rostro De La Muerte" is a dual-studio effort, combining the skills of two HIRAX producers which the band has worked with on their past three releases. The ten new tracks were recorded and engineered by John Haddad at Trench Studio in Corona, California, and mixed by Andy Haller. The new CD also contains one bonus track from the "Chaos And Brutality" EP, which was previously unavailable in the U.S.
"El Rostro De La Muerte" was made available on Black Devil Records and Deep Six Records and is distributed through CMDistro.com. It was pressed in CD and vinyl formats as well as a limited-edition picture disc.
On June 29, 2010 (one day earlier internationally),Season of Mist released a new compilation album from HIRAX, "Noise Chaos War". Consisting of three thrashing EPs remastered, remixed and available on CD for the first time this release also includes a video for "Bombs of Death", filmed live in Japan in 2009.
Originally signed to Metal Blade in 1985, HIRAX has been at the forefront of the thrash movement for over 25 years. Their music has stood the test of time and their legions of fans continue to grow.
