HYDROGYN: 'Candles Light Your Face' Video Available
January 28, 2009"Candles Light Your Face", the new video from Ashland, Kentucky-based rockers HYDROGYN, can be viewed below. The clip was shot at many different locations over a period of a couple of weeks. It was written and produced by Scott Neill for Mule Media along with some input by HYDROGYN vocalist Julie Westlake. Terry Plybon headed up the actual shooting and editing of the video with the crew from Bak-Pak Productions.
"This is the first video from the new CD and we wanted this to tell a story in the most realistic of ways and I think we managed to do that", said Julie.
HYDROGYN is gearing up for an entire late winter and total spring of touring that will take them into Europe, Canada and the U.S. into the late summer, when they will then go back into the studio for the next CD that is scheduled for a late November/early December release. The title of the new disc has already been decided upon and a couple of songs have already been completed for the effort.
"Candles Light Your Face" comes off HYDROGYN's latest album, "Deadly Passions", which was recorded in Huntington, West Virginia's Smash Hits Studio and includes a cover of ALANIS MORISSETTE's mega-smash "You Oughta Know".
HYDROGYN will release a new two-disc Video Compact Disc (VCD) entitled "No Borders" on February 3. Popular in Europe and Asia, the VCD format combines video and music and can be played on VCD machines, most computers and DVD players.
"No Borders" documents the band's three world tours ("Deadly Passions", "Strip'em Blind" and "Bombshell") with concert footage, acoustic appearances, music videos, and interviews with the band. It also includes an interview with world-renowned record producer Michael Wagener who helmed HYDROGYN's album "Bombshell", and has worked with a variety rock legends, including OZZY OZBOURNE, ALICE COOPER, METALLICA and SKID ROW.
"'No Borders' has a little extra to offer," said Jeff Westlake, HYDROGYN's guitar player and founding member. "We were able to incorporate footage sent in by fans from all over the United States and Europe. Fans may be surprised to see their footage on the disc."
HYDROGYN recently announced the addition of drummer Josh Cumberland to the group's ranks. Cumberland comes to HYDROGYN with previous experience on the Universal label with his then-band ERASE THE GREY.
