INTRONAUT's New Album To Feature Guest Appearance By TOOL Bassist

July 21, 2010

Southern California's INTRONAUT — which walks a fine line between psychedelic brutality, captivating hooks and devastating-yet-unpredictable time changes — is putting the finishing touches on its sophomore album, "Valley Of Smoke", for a fall release via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2008's "Prehistoricisms" was once again produced by Josh Newell (JANE'S ADDICTION).

Commented vocalist/guitarist Sacha Dunable: "The new record [is] just about done.

"It's been quite exhausting fine-tuning everything, but it's paid off.

"Josh Newell is killing it on the production side of things even while bogged down with some more lucrative projects, and we were lucky enough to have this guy Justin [Chancellor, TOOL bassist] (from some band I won't name drop, but will say that it rhymes with 'Cool') come in and co-write/perform on a song with us where we have two drummers and two bassists going at once. That's right, folks, pure excess. Other than that, this record rules so much that I'm literally embarrassed to have been a part of everything we've done up until now.

"Not to sound pretentious, but this is absolutely the best music ever made."

INTRONAUT kicks off a massive North American tour with CYNIC and DYSRHYTHMIA on Thursday, July 22.

Added Dunable: "INTRONAUT is beyond stoked to get back out on the road and play some shows with our buddies in CYNIC and DYSRHYTHMIA.

"If you live near any of these cities, be sure to come out! We'll be playing a few songs off our new record, and I could only assume that the other two bands are going to blow your socks off."
