IRON MAIDEN Confirms Paris Show

November 19, 2007

IRON MAIDEN will perform at the Ominisport De Bercy Arena in Paris, France on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 as part of their Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008.

Bassist Steve Harris says: "We've had many great shows at the Omnisport De Bercy venue over recent years and it was actually the first place in Europe we played with the current lineup back in 1999. The atmosphere there is always electric thanks to the energy of the fans and we're really looking forward to playing there again. It's also tremendous to be able to use the profile of the 'Live after Death' DVD to do what is effectively an '80s show. It will be enormous fun and changing the approach to the songs we play tour by tour keeps it fresh and interesting for both the band and the fans alike. l think 'Powerslave' was an incredible show with the Egyptian theme and I'm looking forward to seeing it all again myself."

When tickets went on sale on November 12 for IRON MAIDEN's three stadium shows in Sweden and Finland the box offices were inundated and all 123,500 tickets were quickly sold out — over nine months in advance of the concert dates.

The two Swedish shows, July 16 at Stockholm Stadium and July 26 at Ullevi Stadium, Gothenburg, with respective capacities of 31,500 and 50,500, sold out in less than two and a half hours.

The show at the 41,500-capacity Helsinki Olympic Stadium on July 18 sold out in under two hours and further demand is so great that a further show has been added in Finland at the 30,000-capacity Ratina Stadium in Tampere on July 19.

On February 5, 2008 MAIDEN will release the hightly anticipated DVD of "Live after Death" and to tie in with this will play songs mainly from their classic '80s albums on this forthcoming tour. The stage production will also feature a production-based on the Egyptian-themed "Powerslave Tour" which was featured on the original 1985 video release of "Live after Death".
