IRON MAIDEN: Possible U.K. Festival Appearance In The Works
December 20, 2006According to Dave Simpson of The Guardian, IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson announced during the band's gig in Newcastle, England on Sunday (December 17) that MAIDEN will celebrate their renewed popularity by taking 150,000 fans "to a muddy field in the middle of England" next year. It was not clear if Bruce was referring to a possible appearance at the 2007 installment of the Download festival or if he was talking about another event.
As previously reported, IRON MAIDEN's "Different World" single entered the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart at position No. 7. The Hot 100 Singles Sales (also known as Singles Sales) is a chart released weekly by Billboard magazine in the United States. It measures sales of commercial singles and is one of three component charts, along with the Hot 100 Airplay and the Hot Digital Songs, that determine the chart positions of singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
IRON MAIDEN's new album, "A Matter of Life and Death", has sold 141,000 copies in the United States since its Sept. 5 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
