IVORY KNIGHT Guitarist To Record Solo CD
November 14, 2008Rob Gravelle, guitarist for the Canadian power metal group IVORY KNIGHT, has decided to take a sabbatical from the band to record his debut solo CD, tentatively entitled "No Plan B".
Rob joined IVORY KNIGHT in 2000 and played on the band's two albums, "Up from the Ashes" and "Unconscience". His decision to record a solo CD came about while recording with guitar legend, producer and ANNIHILATOR mastermind, Jeff Waters. "I just wrote so much material for that album that I was already half done the music for my own CD by the time we had finished recording," recalls Rob. Look for "No Plan B" sometime in the spring of 2009. Meanwhile, Rob is also recording covers of classic rock songs in his own trademark prog/speed/classic metal style. THE POLICE's "Synchronicity II" already available for download on iTunes and other digital download applications. Watch for covers of THE SWEET's "Ballroom Blitz", CHEAP TRICK's "Dream Police", and the "Barber of Seville" overture in the very near future.
Rob has released a number of recordings over the years with various acts including SUDDEN THUNDER, DR. SQUISH and others.
