JIMI HENDRIX Fender Stratocaster To Be Auctioned This Month
November 4, 2004StratCollector.com is reporting that the Cooper Owen auction house will offer a circa 1961 Fender Stratocaster (see image here) once owned and played by Jimi Hendrix on Saturday, November 20, 2004. This instrument is part of the Hendrix memorabilia collection represented by Cooper Owen that is on display at the Marquee Club in London and that will be sold in various auctions, the first of which will be held November 20, at the Marquee Club. The guitar is accompanied by a letter from Bob Levine confirming the guitar's authenticity. Bob Levine, who received the guitar from Jimi, and his wife Kathy worked closely with Hendrix in the U.S. Bob was a key member of Hendrix' management team, working with him from 1967 until 1970, acting as "power broker" controlling Jimi's American enterprises.
