JON OLIVA'S PAIN: More Tour Plans Revealed
December 5, 2006Riding the highly successful wave from the CD release "Maniacal Renderings" by JON OLIVA'S PAIN, SAVATAGE mastermind Jon Oliva and company are now deep into their aggressive tour plans for 2007.
JON OLIVA'S PAIN has announced its partnership's with Dragon Productions, the metal division of A.S.S. Concerts, Finance-Meets-Music (FIMM; a tour financial managment firm) and Indevent Promotions. The band will take its show on the road for the spring 2007 tour, scheduled to begin late March 2007. JON OLIVA'S PAIN is headlining the ProgPower UK festival on March 31 and also confirmed to headline both the acoustic and metal shows at the Pestop Festival on April 20-21 in Belgium. Current tour plans include France, Spain, Turkey, Scandanavia and a host of other cities in Europe. Tour dates will be announced soon. The JON OLIVA'S PAIN summer festival run will also include their all-acoustic performances, which debuted in Europe this past summer. Fans can continue to expect a heavy dose of SAVATAGE classics, including many songs rarely performed live. The acoustic shows offer a unique opportunity for fans to hear alternate versions of SAVATAGE/JOP songs and the chance to learn insider history about SAVATAGE, JOP and the late, great Criss Oliva.

"Maniacal Renderings" entered the German national chart at position No. 86 upon its release in September. The follow-up to 2004's "'Tage Mahal" was once again recorded at Audio Lab Studios in Tampa, Florida and is described in a press release as "a more progressive, complex and dramatic edge without sacrificing any of the songwriting quality that fans have come to expect during Oliva's 25-year career."
