JUDAS PRIEST: U.S. Tour To Start May 31 In Minneapolis

March 24, 2005

A source at Epic Records has told Launch Radio Networks that JUDAS PRIEST will begin its North American tour on May 31 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Further dates and cities, as well as venues, could be announced as early as next week. QUEENSRŸCHE will serve as the opening act, with a third band possibly added to the bill.

Guitarist Glenn Tipton told Launch the show will feature the kind of production that PRIEST has always been known for. "It'll be a fairly big show, but not completely over the top," he said. "I mean, PRIEST has always gone hand-in-hand with a fairly big production and I think we've always been a sort of exaggeration of the band onstage, projecting the band out to the audience and as one with the audience. So there will be a production there, yeah."

PRIEST is currently touring the U.K. until the end of March. They'll head over to Europe next month and Japan in May.

The British metal legends continue to support their new "Angel of Retribution" album, the band's first in 15 years with vocalist Rob Halford.
