JUNKYARD is a hard rock band formed in Los Angeles by two Texans, David Roach (vocals) and Chris Gates (guitar, ex-BIG BOYS). The group's self-titled debut album, produced by the legendary Tom Werman, followed a slicker hard rock path than the punk roots of the members. The follow-up was more of the same raunchy music, but just before its release Todd Muscat (who played with drummer Patrick Muzingo in DECRY and with Gilby Clarke in KILL FOR THRILLS) replaced bassist Clay Anthony. A third album was recorded but never officially released as the band was dropped from their recording contract (it has since been widely bootlegged). The writing was on the wall for the group and they disbanded. A live album was released in early 2000, and the band did a few live shows in America and Japan (with Tim Mosher replacing guitarist Brian Baker). A mini-album of new and old songs was released in 2003 and the band continues to tour from time to time.
