KATAKLYSM Vocalist Comments On Upcoming Tour With CHIMAIRA And TERROR
November 12, 2007Having recently returned from a wildly successful European tour (including a performance at Nuclear Blast's 20 Year Anniversary Party in Stuttgart, Germany),KATAKLYSM vocalist Maurizio Iacono shares his thoughts on the band's upcoming stint as the support act for CHIMAIRA and TERROR:
"The KATAKLYSM machine is well-oiled and ready to crush! We are very anxious to start this tour with CHIMAIRA this Wednesday and can’t wait to see all our fans again and start the mayhem that we are known for. Unfortunately, our bass player Stéphane Barbe won't be able to make this trek because he and his girlfriend are expecting their first baby, but if all goes well, he'll be rejoining us on stage for the last three shows on the tour in Montreal, Toronto, and Millvale, Pennsylvania. In the meantime, worry not as Francois Mongrain from tech masters MARTYR is filling in on bass and is ready to strike and draw blood with the hyperblasters.
"We've completed a massive new album, 'Prevail', that should be out by spring 2008. We can’t wait for you to hear it!!! It fires on all cylinders and in all directions and will take no prisoners!!! 2008 will be the year of the Heartbeast!!!"
KATAKLYSM has recruited producer Jason Suecof (CHIMAIRA, TRIVIUM, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER) to mix the band's new album in early January. "Prevail" will feature several guest appearances to be announced at a later date. The album is scheduled for May 23, 2008 release via Nuclear Blast Records.
KATAKLYSM recently decided to "immortalize" the character that was featured on the cover of their most recent album, "In the Arms of Devastation", and have him re-appear as the main character — dubbed "The Heartbeast" — on their next offering, "Prevail".
Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "We had so [much] killer feedback on the artwork but especially on the character that we decided to keep him as the band's fifth band member... kinda like IRON MAIDEN did with 'Eddie.' We have the perfect concept for the next album art... it will be bad-ass!"
