LACUNA COIL's 'Shallow Life' Cracks U.S. Top 20
April 29, 2009LACUNA COIL's new album, "Shallow Life", sold 21,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 16 on The Billboard 200 chart.
LACUNA COIL's previous CD, "Karmacode", opened with just under 34,000 copies back in April 2006 to land at No. 28. It has since sold more than 200,000 units in the U.S.
The band's 2002 album, "Comalies", has shifted more than 300,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Commented vocalist Cristina Scabbia: "Thank you, thank you and thank you all! After its first week in the stores, 'Shallow Life' entered The Billboard 200 chart at #16 and we are absolutely thrilled. Most of all, we couldn't be happier about the fact that you (our fans) have supported us and our work, once again. "Shallow Life" was released in the U.S. on April 21 via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded in September/October at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, California with producer Don Gilmore, who has previously worked with LINKIN PARK, TRAPT, AVRIL LAVIGNE, GOOD CHARLOTTE, THE VERONICAS, PEARL JAM, TRUST COMPANY and DURAN DURAN.
