LACUNA COIL Working On First-Ever DVD

May 23, 2008

Italian goth-metal icons LACUNA COIL have started work on a DVD project which is tentatively scheduled to be released later this year. The DVD will be a retrospective of all things from the band's "Karmacode" album cycle. It will include promotional videos, spectacularly remixed professionally shot festival appearances, behind-the-scenes travel documentaries and home videos and a few other fan-friendly surprises!

This will be the first "official" LACUNA COIL DVD release.

As previously reported, LACUNA COIL vocalist Cristina Scabbia recently confirmed that she will perform with Finnish cello quartet APOCALYPTICA at this year's Download festival on Sunday, June 15 at Donington Park, Leicestershire, UK.

Cristina will sing the epic ballad "S.O.S. (Anything But Love)", which was featured on APOCALYPTICA's new album, "Worlds Collide", and was released as a single earlier this year, accompanied by a suitably dark and lavish video (see below). "S.O.S. (Anything But Love)" was also featured in the new motion picture "Stone's War" a science-fiction war movie based on a story of Finnish soldiers during World War 2.

The Download festival performance will mark the first time that APOCALYPTICA has performed live with Cristina Scabbia. It will also be Cristina's first appearance in the UK without LACUNA COIL, something she's rather excited about. She says, "I've been invited by my friends APOCALYPTICA to join them during their set at Download, on the song 'S.O.S. (Anything But Love)' and GOD I SO can't wait! You know how much I love the UK and how much I ADORE the always-fantastic crowd, so expect me to be very emotional and happy on stage! I want to see you all there during the performance; it's gonna rock."

APOCALYPTICA and Cristina will also perform their song collaboration at this year's prestigious Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards at Indigo O2 on June 16.

Cristina comments: "Last time I performed at the Metal Hammer Awards: 1) I won an award, and that was AWESOME 2) I was sick, very sick, and that was a LITTLE LESS awesome, but STILL great because LACUNA COIL performed that night as well ... and I saw you guys being there with us, hearts and souls. This year I'll be there without the LACUNA boys, but with my other buddies of APOCALYPTICA. When we perform 'S.O.S. (Anything But Love)' I expect you all to sing it with me!!!" And after, we all will party together, that's for sure!"

LACUNA COIL is currently working on its highly anticipated new album, the follow-up to 2006's "Karmacode", but will take a short break in June to play some headlining shows in Australia.
