LIFE OF AGONY Guitarist Interviewed On 'Mars Attacks' Radio Podcast

March 14, 2010

LIFE OF AGONY guitarist Joseph Zampella (a.k.a. Joey Z) was interviewed on the latest edition of the "Mars Attacks" radio podcast. The interview was conducted right before the first two shows that the band played in November to commemorate its 20th anniversary. Topics of discussion include the LIFE OF AGONY's history, its songwriting process, the release of a live album in 2010, why singer Keith Caputo originally left the band, Method Of Groove studios, STEREOMUD and CARNIVORE.

The entire podcast can be streamed using the audio player below.

On Saturday, April 3, 2010, I Scream Records will record and film LIFE OF AGONY's performance at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium, the second show of the band's exclusive European "20 Years Strong" tour. The "20 Years Strong" live album, which will also include a free bonus DVD of the complete show at the Ancienne Belgique, exclusive footage and much more, is set for release early this summer.

In late 2009, LIFE OF AGONY performed its debut album, "River Runs Red", in its entirety during a few exclusive, sold-out, U.S. shows and now, due to popular demand, they're also heading over to Europe to play several concerts focusing on material from this amazing, legendary LP.

"We're really excited to capture this moment in time," the band's bassist, Alan Robert, said in a statement.

"Twenty years, man, that's no joke!

"If you would've asked us when we were kids growin' up in Brooklyn if we thought that we'd ever make something this important to people around the world, we probably would've laughed in your face. But here we are, still selling out shows after all this time and turning people's tragedy into hope. Somehow, through the music, we've helped a lot of folks out there. And that's what's always been most important to us."

I Scream's Laurens Kusters said: "We're very excited about this collaboration. This will be an amazing release, recorded at the Ancienne Belgique, one of the most exclusive European clubs, in Brussels Belgium, the city where I Scream Records was founded in 1994."

LIFE OF AGONY "20 Years Strong" European tour dates:

April 02 - Effenaar - Eindhoven, The Netherlands (sold out)
April 03 - Ancienne Belgique - Brussels, Belgium
April 04 - Matrix - Bochum, Germany

LIFE OF AGONY has played sporadic shows over the course of the last four years after completing its successful touring cycle for the 2005 Epic Records release, "Broken Valley".

LIFE OF AGONY frontman Keith Caputo's latest solo album "A Fondness For Hometown Scars", was released in Europe in April 2008 via Suburban Records. The CD was produced by Martyn Lenoble (JANE'S ADDICTION, DAVE GAHAN, PORNO FOR PYROS, THE CULT); mixed by Vincent Jones (SARAH MCLACHLAN, DAVID GAHAN, MORRISSEY) and Martyn Lenoble; and was mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound in New York City.

SPOILER NYC, the New York-based punk trio featuring LIFE OF AGONY's Alan Robert on lead vocals and bass, recently uploaded two new songs — "Damaged Goods" and "Banned in 38 States" — to the band's MySpace page. The tracks come off the group's forthcoming album, "Banned in 38 States", which was recorded and mixed by Grammy Award-winning producer Ken Lewis (LENNY KRAVITZ, BEASTIE BOYS) for a 2010 release through an as-yet-undisclosed label.
