LORDI: Rescheduled Dates Announced
November 10, 2006Finnish monster metal band LORDI has announced new tour dates Spain to make up the shows that were cancelled last month after some of the members of the band and the crew were taken ill. The new dates are as follows:
Mar. 01 - Barcelona, Spain - Apolo
Mar. 02 - Bergara, Spain - Jam
Mar. 03 - Madrid, Spain - Heineken
Mar. 04 - Murcia, Spain - Gamma
In other news, the cover of the band's forthcoming 68-page comic book, entitled "Alkupera" ("The Origin" in English),has been posted online at this location. The band state that it "will hopefully be translated in English very soon!"
LORDI released its new DVD, "Market Square Massacre", in Germany on November 3. The disc contains the group's music videos plus the "welcome-home" concert from Helsinki last May when a record audience of 90,000 Finns welcomed their heroes back from the Eurovision Song Contest victory in Athens. It also contains some extra material from Athens as seen on Finnish TV in May. The band also recorded a new version of their 2003 hit "Would You Love a Monsterman?", and a new music video was shot with a Halloween theme (also included on the DVD).
LORDI's "The Arockalypse" album was recently certified gold in Sweden for sales in excess of 30,000 copies. The CD topped the album charts and stayed in the Top Ten for several weeks. In addition, "Hard Rock Hallelujah" reached position No. 9 on the Swedish single chart and stayed in the Top 60 for almost four months. "Hard Rock Hallelujah" was also certified gold in Germany, where it was in the Top 10 for seven weeks, having peaked at position No. 5. So far, the single has sold an impressive 150,000 copies in Germany.
