LUDICHRIST And SCATTERBRAIN Rehearse For First Time Since 1994
October 18, 2006'80s hardcore metal act LUDICHRIST and the band formed out of its remains, SCATTERBRAIN, will reunite for a one-off performance at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City on February 23, 2007. "At the show, both bands (SCATTERBRAIN and LUDICHRIST) will be doing full sets," the two groups' members write in a statement. "Not counting cover songs, we've picked 40 songs to play. That's about two hours of music, not counting covers and other nonsense (random and otherwise) that occurs during our shows. That's a lot of music, and that's a lot of songs to relearn.
"So…we plug in or shit tonight (Monday, Oct. 16). We haven't played anything together since 1994 and some of these songs haven't been played in almost 20 years, so we thought we'd work on maybe five songs. We actually got through about 18 songs, and they sounded pretty good! Maybe the songs are just permanently burned into our central nervous systems. By the end there were some sore fingers, arms and throats, but we survived. It was loud, heavy and fun. And it was almost tight.
"No matter how liquored up we were when we played live, we also took pride in being tight.
"Well, last night wasn't tight, but if we sounded that good after one night, you can bet your ass we'll be tight on Feb. 23rd. (It's probably safe to bet that we'll be all liquored up as well.)
"And so the adventure begins…"
