LYNCH MOB: New Album Title Revealed
November 29, 2008Cameron Edney of Inside Out webzine recently conducted an interview with legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB) and singer Oni Logan (LYNCH MOB). A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
Inside Out: You recently went back into the studio to begin work on the next LYNCH MOB album. After so many years of recording, what are you hoping to achieve in the studio this time around?
Oni Logan: We hope to deliver a solid recording, one that will be up to snuff with the first album, so to speak.
George Lynch: Revisiting the wonderful chemistry that Oni and I shared...and building upon the legacy of that first record "Wicked Sensation" and doing it without the drugs and egos.
Inside Out: What can you tell us about the new tracks you are currently working oo? Can you share any working titles with us?
George Lynch: The album is tentatively entitled "Smoke And Mirrors", and some of the track titles are "The Phasist", "Mansions In The Sky" and "Hollywood Heroes". It's got a nice old-skool four on the floor vibe to it… very honest, bare and raw!
Oni Logan: So far the songs that have been written are all different from each other, in some ways it's been a bit of an adventure, it's really too early to tell what will end up on the recording.
Inside Out: Although you are still in the early stages with "Smoke And Mirrors", has there been a release date set?
George Lynch: We're hoping for early summer 2009.
Inside Out: When it comes to writing for the new album, have you approached it in the same way as you have done albums in the past or are you guys looking at this from various different angles?
Oni Logan: The writing process is the same as ever… George comes up with a few riffs we arrange it together then I take it home and write the lyrics and melodies for it.
Inside Out: George, I have heard that next year you are planning on doing various secret shows and releasing some limited edition albums to commemorate your 30th anniversary, can you shed any light to what it is exactly that you have planned?
George Lynch: There's a company called Scenefour that been working on a year and half campaign to commemorate the roughly 30th anniversary. First up is a limited-edition art piece that's really amazing, only two hundred pieces and they're all unique. One hundred of them will be on display at art shows and the other hundred will be for sale through some retail outlets and the website.

Joining him for the set were guitarist George Lynch (ex-DOKKEN),vocalist Oni Logan and bassist Marco Mendoza (WHITESNAKE, THIN LIZZY)
LYNCH MOB's U.S. tour with CINDERELLA, WARRANT and LYNAM was cancelled after CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer's left vocal cord hemorrhaged during rehearsal, thereby making it impossible for him to sing in the immediate future.
