LYNYRD SKYNYRD Singer's Father 'Gravely Ill', Band Cancel Concert

Chris Shull of The Wichita Eagle is reporting that the concert by rock band LYNYRD SKYNYRD, scheduled to take place tonight at the West Bank Stage in Wichita, has been canceled. The father of the band's lead singer, Johnny Van Zant is gravely ill, and Van Zant left the tour to be with him, forcing the cancellation of the show, said John Nath, director of the Kansas Coliseum and the show's co-promoter.

There are no plans to reschedule the concert, Nath said.
