MÖTLEY CRÜE's SIXX Is In No Rush To Record New Studio Album
August 23, 2006MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has told John Benson of Billboard.com that he's in no rush to begin work on the band's next sudio album, despite previous reports to the contrary.
"There's a lot of [new] music but I don't feel any urgency," he said. "I guess in a perfect world, the ['The Dirt'] movie and the album and the tour would all kind of come at the same time. But in the MÖTLEY world, I doubt it."
The CRÜE's journey is about to be transformed onto the silver screen with an MTV Films/Paramount project that is slated to move into production this fall. The biopic, which has yet to be cast, is based on the band's autobiography "The Dirt" and is due out next year. Sixx says the band will be "completely involved" in the production.
MÖTLEY CRÜE's co-headlining tour with AEROSMITH begins Sept. 5 in Columbus, Ohio. Each band will perform a 90-minute set, with AEROSMITH closing the show every night.
