MACHINE HEAD: Cover-Song Contest Results Announced
March 21, 2003MACHINE HEAD have announced the winning entries in their recently-launched cover-song contest.
As previously reported, the members of the group's official forum were asked to list three songs that they would like to hear MACHINE HEAD cover, after which the band picked the 10 most interesting requests they felt they could do justice to. All of the forum members then voted on the final three, with the most-requested entries being given the "MACHINE HEAD treatment."
The band will shortly begin recording demo versions of the following tracks, to be made available in a non-downloadable MP3 audio stream via the group's official web site, www.machinehead1.com:
01. METALLICA – "Battery"
02. FAITH NO MORE – "Jizzlobber"
03. EXODUS - "Toxic Waltz"
"We will begin recording these in the next two weeks, in 'demo form', and will be video taping the whole shebang for a future installment of the 'In The Studio' series coming soon," stated MACHINE HEAD frontman Robert Flynn.
"A small warning… If you're expecting some big, serious recording session, with top-notch production, and blah blah, you will be disappointed. We plan on drinking a few beers, having some fun, and just having a good time with it. We hope, and encourage you to do the same."
MACHINE HEAD are currently writing and demoing material for their fifth studio album, tentatively due in late 2003. Among the tracks set to appear on the as-yet-untitled CD are "All Fall Down", "Pins And Needles", "Descend The Shades Of Night", "Bite The Bullet" and "Left Unfinished".
