MAYHEM To Appear On BBC's 'This World' Program

October 18, 2005

BBC television interviewed and filmed MAYHEM during their show at the Slottsfjell festival in Tönsberg, Norway earlier this year. The footage was used for their affairs show "This World".

The first broadcast is now confirmed for November 24, 2005 on BBC 2 at 9:00 p.m. And it will most likely be picked up by BBC worldwide and rebroadcast throughout the world later on. "This World" is the flagship of BBC when it comes to current affairs, and is regularly seen by two million people in Britain.

The program series asked MAYHEM for their documentary about extreme music around the world, because one part of the film focuses on the black metal scene in Norway. The goal of the documentary was to investigate some of the controversies surrounding extreme metal music and explore the popularity of extreme metal bands like MAYHEM.

As previously reported, MAYHEM have set "Ordo Ab Chao" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in late 2005/early 2006 via Season of Mist. The band's upcoming CD will mark their first release with vocalist Attila Csihar (TORMENTOR, ABORYM) since their 1993 album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas". "Expect nothing but viciousness!!" the group write on their web site.

Csihar joined MAYHEM last November as the replacement for departed singer Maniac (real name Sven Erik Kristiansen).

MAYHEM's last studio album, "Chimera", entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 28 upon its release in March 2004.
