MEGADETH: Kicking Off U.S. Tour Tonight

September 4, 2007

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"Well, it's almost 7 PM PST and I am getting ready to go to dinner with my family for sushi before I head to Alaska. Hell, I watched the 'Deadliest Catch' and 'Man vs. Wild' and I ain't getting stuck in an 'Ice Crevice' without a full belly!

"So, my chauffeur picks me up tomorrow at 4:30 AM PST to get to LAX to get to Anchorage. Never let it be said that we don't take our relationship with you and our band seriously. I am going to call Glen [Drover; guitar] and James [Lomenzo; bass] and Shawn [Drover; drums] at 4:30 too so they can share in feeling my pain.

"I chose to stay home one last day because we had a rough three days in rehearsal with gear and switching problems, and I took my kids to see 'Balls of Fury'. I was saying some lines from 'Team America' when I walked in and I think I scared Electra [Dave's daughter].

"Anyway, I just got done calling back some friends on SayNow and left them some messages and excluding the obligatory rude messages by the haters. There are some really great messages from you guys.

"Please leave me your name too so I can call ya by it, unless ya just answer to anything. I especially liked the two metalheads from Slaughter, Kentucky!!!

"Finally, I hope that we can talk to you guys some more while on the tour. I know it would really lift my spirits up to hear from you regularly. And this is so much fun for me that I think the other guys are going to do this too. So stand by!

"Off for some sushi, and lemme say I love you guys and can't wait to jam again!"

MEGADETH's U.S. tour this fall kicks off tonight (September 4) in Anchorage, Alaska, taking the band through 24 U.S. cites ending up in Norfolk Virginia on October 6. Support on the dates will come from IN THIS MOMENT and THE CONFESSION.
