September 25, 2006A "memorial day" for late METALLICA bassist Cliff Burton has been scheduled for Saturday, September 30 at the at Gyllene Rasten restaurant/bar (web site) in Ljungby, Dörarp, Sweden. The restaurant/bar will be playing METALLICA music from their early days when Cliff was in the band. Live videos will also be aired, including the "Cliff 'Em All" DVD. In addition, several bands will be performing Cliff-era METALLICA tunes, including AGE OF FURY (from Hillerstorp, Sweden),THE HAZE (Helsingborg, Sweden) and MORBID INSULTER (Gothenburg, Sweden). The first band will take the stage at 6:00 p.m.
As previously reported, metal disc jockey Drewcifer (creator of the KNAC.COM classic metal show "The Vault" and soon-to-be new host of "The Pit" on KMKF 101.5FM) will be hosting a Cliff Burton Tribute Night at the local rock club PJ's Pub in Manhattan, Kansas on September 26. Dubbed "Cliff 'Em All Again", the tribute will feature Cliff-era METALLICA music and memorabilia all night, including many live and rare recordings from his personal collection over the years.
