METALLICA Guitarist's Grandmother Passes Away

Kirk Hammett's (METALLICA) grandmother Baleriana Oyao, who was profiled in the June 9 edition of The Gilroy Dispatch as one of Gilroy, California's longest living residents, passed away on July 18 at her Gilroy, California home. She was 102.

During her interview with The Gilroy Dispatch, Baleriana revealed that she was recently able to see her famous grandson perform in concert. "He is pretty good," she said.
