METALLICA: Mexican Shows To Be Filmed For Forthcoming DVD

May 26, 2009

According to a post on legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin's official web site, METALLICA's three headlining concerts in Mexico City, Mexico — which are scheduled for June 4, June 6 and June 7 at Foro Sol — will be filmed for a forthcoming DVD. Halfin will attend the shows in order to shoot the DVD cover. Support at the gigs will come from AVENGED SEVENFOLD and the Mexican band RESORTE.

It was previously announced that METALLICA would take part in a DVD shoot of the band's current "Death Magnetic" tour in July in the south of France. The show that was originally supposed to be filmed was the July 7, 2009 concert in Nimes, France at Arènes de Nîmes, which is part of the sold-out Festival de Nimes.

METALLICA's video for the song "Broken, Beat And Scarred" can be viewed below. The performance clip was shot by METALLICA's longtime friend and collaborator, famed video director Wayne Isham, on December 13, 2008 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California and December 12, 2008 at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.

Commented the band: "We're having so much fun out on the road that we thought, hey, why not film it? So we invited our good friend Wayne Isham and his crew to join us for a few shows in California in December of 2008 . . . We go way back with Wayne (several vids from the 'Black' album up through 'Frantic' and the 'Cunning Stunts' DVD) and as always, Wayne rocked it!"

Wayne Isham, 50, is an American movie director who has directed music videos of many popular artists such as MÖTLEY CRÜE, SIMPLE PLAN, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, PANTERA, 'N SYNC, SHANIA TWAIN, GODSMACK, BRITNEY SPEARS, LEONA LEWIS, PINK FLOYD, SHERYL CROW, JOSS STONE, MADONNA, AVRIL LAVIGNE, DEF LEPPARD and BON JOVI, among others.

Previous METALLICA videos that were directed by Wayne Isham:

* Enter Sandman
* Wherever I May Roam
* Sad But True
* Fuel
* No Leaf Clover
* Nothing Else Matters (from "S&M")
* I Disappear
* Frantic

"Broken, Beat And Scarred" is the latest single from METALLICA's "Death Magnetic" album, which has sold 1.76 million copies in the United States since its September 2008 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
