METALLICA's HETFIELD Talks To 17-Year-Old Dutch Girl About Songwriting; Video Available
August 20, 2008A four-minute video clip of a 17-year-old Dutch girl named Cissie talking to METALLICA frontman James Hetfield about songwriting during a meet-and-greet session on August 15, 2008 prior to the band's performance at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium can be viewed below. Cissie — who has been playing guitar since 2005 — says, "I have always been very curious of James' songwriting process and I'm very happy he gave a good answer and took some time for it! And hahah, I'm sorry for being a bit stupid; I was really nervous and it was quite hard to form sentences with the Mighty Het standing right in front of you! It was definitely one of the best days of my life!"
METALLICA has officially set Friday, September 12 as the "worldwide" release date for its new album, "Death Magnetic". The CD will be available to download for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on the same day the album arrives in stores.
The band is offering the record for sale in numerous configurations, ranging from a digital-only release to a deluxe "coffin box" that will come with a bonus CD, a DVD, a T-shirt, guitar picks and other goodies.
