METALLICA: This Week In 'Death Magnetic'

September 10, 2008

METALLICA's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"A few activities in Europe this week to tell you about...

"We're just a few days away from the 'official' release and the boys are on their way back to Europe for a few final activities that you may want to check out.

"Paris: Wednesday, September 10 - Rob [Trujillo, bass] and Lars [Ulrich, drums] will be live on the air at Virgin Radio around 6 PM.

"Copenhagen: Thursday, September 11 - Celebrate 'An Afternoon with Metallica' at the Rock. The Black Scouts will air interviews, history, and of course music. James [Hetfield], Lars, Kirk [Hammett], and Robert will be stopping to chat with them in front of a live audience. If you're a Met Club member, run over to www.metclub.com to see how you can be there.

"Berlin: Friday, September 12 - We'll be hosting the first of two 'Death Magnetic' release parties at the brand new 02 World — the first event ever for that venue!! Tickets are still available if you're a Met Club or Mission Metallica member.

"London: Sunday, September 14 - An intimate gig at the BBC Radio Theatre . . . again, if you're a Clubber, check the site for details on how to win tickets.

"Monday, September 15 - FIVE hours of special coverage on [BBC] Radio 1, including interviews with the guys and a broadcast of the show from the night before. You can listen live to these programs or listen at your leisure for seven days afterwards online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.

"And, of course, it's the night of the second 'Death Magnetic' release party at the 02 Arena. Unfortunately, this show is now sold out.

"Tuesday, September 16 - The band visits 'Later with Jools Holland' and there is a live 'taster' show that night on BBC2 from 10-10:30pm with the band playing one track. The full hour-long show goes out on Friday, September 19 on BBC2 11:30pm, followed by a repeat of the METALLICA'Culture Show' special.

"Whew . . . what a week!! We think everyone might be taking a break come September 17!!"
