MNEMIC Drop Off Germany's UP FROM THE GROUND Festival
August 27, 2004Danish "modern thrashers" MNEMIC have been forced to cancel their scheduled appearance at the Up From The Ground festival in Gmünden, Germany on Saturday (August 28). Drummer Brian "Brylle" Rasmussen "is becoming a father any time now, and needs to be with his family," the band write on their web site. "A fill-in for Brian was very hard to find, and due to such a short notice, nobody could do the job. We hope we can make it up for the promoter Heiko and the rest of the Up From The Ground crew, and want to thank them for considering MNEMIC as part of the festival — and to our brothers in MALEVOLENT CREATION and ILLDISPOSED, kick some major ass!!" Replacing MNEMIC at the festival wil be German melodic black/death metallers SUIDAKRA.
MNEMIC recently filmed a video for their new single, "Deathbox", with director Patric Ulleaus (DIMMU BORGIR, IN FLAMES, LACUNA COIL) of Revolver Films. The video was shot in Gothenburg, Sweden at the Revolver Studios. Check out pictures from the video shoot at this location.
"Deathbox" is the first single off MNEMIC's sophomore album, "The Audio Injected Soul", due on September 27 through Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to last year's "Mechanical Spin Phenomena" was recorded at AntFarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen and is said to be "much faster and more dynamic" than its predecessor.
