MOONSKIN Singer Comments On CHUCK SCHULDINER 'Memorial' Song

March 26, 2005

Israeli "dark metallers" MOONSKIN wrote and recorded a special memorial song ("Embraced by Words") for late DEATH mainman Chuck Schuldiner for inclusion on "Unforgotten Past - A Tribute to Chuck Schuldiner", a tribute album recently released by the Chinese label Areadeath Productions.

Commented MOONSKIN singer Yishai Swearts (ex-NAIL WITHIN): "We composed and recorded a special song for Chuck. During the years, his lyrics, words and music was an important part of our evolution musically and most important: mentally, his lyrics were personal, deep and emotional, his words really touched my heart for more then 15 years. Chuck's lyrical ideals guided me through my inner path not once. His unique authentic style was beyond art, it was more of a philosophy. Listening to 'Individual Thought Patterns' [DEATH's 1993 album] was like having a close conversation with a good intellegent friend, Chuck knew how to touch my heart and at the same time to compose the best records in the death metal ever. Our fears, hopes, tears, sorrow and strength — everything was reflected in his lyrics, everything which was a part of my soul.

"We miss you man, the metalhead, the composer, the artist, and most important: the person and friend, Destiny was waiting for you and me — your candle will forever burn."
