MOTÖRHEAD Mainman Interviewed On Chicago's WLUP-FM 97.9

September 9, 2009

Chicago's WLUP-FM 97.9 (Loop 97.9) morning personality Byrd conducted an interview with MOTÖRHEAD mainman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister when the band played Chicago in late August. Watch the seven-minute chat below.

As previously reported, former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum played his first show with MOTÖRHEAD last night (Tuesday, September 8) at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.

Sorum is filling in for MOTÖRHEAD's regular drummer, Mikkey Dee, who is sitting out most of the band's current North American tour in order to take part in "Kändisdjungeln", the Swedish version of the popular U.K. and U.S. reality-TV show "I'm a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here!".

A total of 10 celebrities will appear in the inaugural season of "Kändisdjungeln" — which is being filmed in the jungles of Malaysia — including Mikkey, Swedish wine expert Bengt Frithiofsson and actress Inger "Pippi Långstrump" Nilsson.

Consisting of 16 episodes, "Kändisdjungeln" is expected to be one of biggest shows of the fall for TV4, which is Sweden's largest television network. The program's format allows viewers to vote, by phone, text message or TV interactive service for the celebrity to complete a physical task usually involving snakes, spiders or other animals and for the celebrity they would like to see win. The last celebrity, after all the others have been evicted, is the winner and is named king or queen of the jungle.

The first episode of "Kändisdjungeln" will air this Friday, September 11.
