MOTÖRHEAD Mainman's THE HEAD CAT Schedules West Coast Dates

January 8, 2008

THE HEAD CAT, the psychobilly side-project of MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister which also features STRAY CATS' Slim Jim Phantom on drums/percussion and Danny B. Harvey (ROCKATS, 13 CATS, LONESOME SPURS) on guitar, has scheduled the following dates:

Jan. 09 - Vixen - Reno, NV
Jan. 10 - The Independent - San Francisco, CA
Jan. 11 - El Corazón – Seattle, WA
Jan. 12 - Dantes – Portland, OR
Feb. 01 - Viejas Casino - San Diego, CA

In a recent interview with SFWeekly.com, Harvey revealed that the band has been working on material for the follow-up to 2006's "Fool's Paradise" (released on Cleopatra). "We have written three originals recently, so don't be surprised if the second CD has a lot of originals on it," he said. "Since we've started playing out live, the band's sound has solidified and we've taken on a character of our own." But just because new material is making its way into the mix doesn't mean THE HEAD CAT has ambitions beyond a pleasurable itinerary. "We all get along wonderfully and so far everything this band has done has been both exciting and fun," he enthuses. "We do this band because it's fun. We have no dreams of making it big because we all already have successful careers in music."

According to a posting on THE HEAD CATMySpace page, the band is "a high-energy, take-no-prisoners combo" that was formed "just to remind the world how rock 'n' roll is supposed to fuckin sound. Forget all those rock posers who have nothing new to say, passing themselves off as the real thing. When it comes to real rock 'n' roll, these three guys have lived it, breathed it, bled it and have set the lifestyle example that all you rebels, rockers and outcasts should strive to follow!"
