New MEGADETH Bassist: I Am Thrilled To Be Part Of One Of Seminal Metal Bands

February 16, 2006

New MEGADETH bassist James Lomenzo (ex-BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DAVID LEE ROTH, WHITE LION) has posted the following message in the "Forum" section of the band's official web site:

"Dear friends and fans of MEGADETH,

"I just wanted to stop in and tell you all how thrilled I am to be a new part of one of the great seminal metal bands of our lifetime.

"Dave [Mustaine], Glen [Drover], Shawn [Drover], their crew and fans have made me feel extraordinarily welcome to be here and I just want to relate how honored I am to be a new part of the MEGADETH legacy.

"For those of you who don’t know me, I've been privileged to play with some of your favorite, (and perhaps not so favorite) bands, including BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DAVID LEE ROTH, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT, OZZY OSBOURNE and more, all the way back to WHITE LION. I was privileged to see MEGADETH in the mid-'90s in Japan standing side stage. I can tell you that it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen, so I come here not just as a professional bassist, but also as a fan.

"At the moment, I’m digging into MEGADETH's sizable catalog, preparing for the up coming show in Dubai so if I'm noticeably absent from posting, please understand why. I plan on making a regular habit of checking in here and in the MEGADETH Fan Club Forum on a regular basis once I'm up to speed.

"Feel free to post your questions in the fan club site, I've got a pretty thick skin so don't be shy to tell me what's on your mind. I promise to be as forthright as good taste will permit and if not… I'll make something up that'll make you chuckle."
