NIGHTRAGE Confirmed For Greece's METAL HEALING FESTIVAL
October 26, 2006Swedish/Greek melodic death metal outfit NIGHTRAGE has been confirmed for the Metal Healing Festival, set to take place July 20-22 in Greece. Also scheduled to appear are THE HAUNTED, TO/DIE/FOR, MYSTIC PROPHECY and EKTOMORF. More acts will be announced soon.
NIGHTRAGE recently announced the addition of drummer Alex Svenningson (ex-MINDFALL) to the group's ranks. "He came in the studio and he really nailed down our songs," stated Marios Iliopoulos, NIGHTRAGE guitarist/songwriter. "He is a great guy and a suberb musician."
NIGHTRAGE will enter Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark on November 28 to begin recording its new album, tentatively due in early 2007 via Lifeforce Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Spiral", "Reconcile" and "Scathing". "We are pretty satisfied with the material and we are looking forward to go to the studio and make a killer album," said Marios.
NIGHTRAGE was originally formed in Greece back in the year 2000 by Iliopoulos (formerly of EXHUMATION, who released three high-quality death metal albums, all produced in Sweden) and his friend Gus G. (DREAM EVIL, FIREWIND, MYSTIC PROPHECY). NIGHTRAGE released two albums on Century Media Records, "Sweet Vengeance" (2003) and "Descent Into Chaos" (2005),before they parted ways with vocalist Tomas Lindberg (AT THE GATES, DISFEAR, THE CROWN) and Strimell joined the band on vocal duties.
