OVERCAST Will NOT Perform At STILLBORN FEST
November 18, 2006Despite a recent announcement to the contrary, OVERCAST — the reunited Massachusetts band which features in its ranks KILLSWITCH ENGAGE bassist Mike D'Antonio and SHADOWS FALL singer Brian Fair — will **NOT** perform at the the Stillborn Fest 2006, set to take place December 30-31 at Toad's Place in New Haven, Connecticut. They WILL, however, perform at the BANE 10th anniversary show at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts on December 30.
In a recent interview with the U.K.'s PowerPlay magazine (web site),KILLSWITCH ENGAGE bassist Mike D'Antonio gave more details about when the recently recorded OVERCAST CD, "Reborn to Kill Again", will become available.
"We don't yet know who the label is going to be [that wil release the CD]," he said. "The unfortunate part is that, despite finishing the record in May, every label we talked to said that they couldn’t put out the record until fall 2007. That's kind of a bummer — when you finish something that you really proud of that you have to wait a whole year almost to put it out. But that was the case; otherwise we would have signed to a label straight away and put it out. But with people telling us that we had to wait anyway, we decided to take our time. The album itself was self-funded so we didn't have anyone telling us we could or couldn't do, and Adam [-Dutkiewicz, KILLSWITCH guitarist and metal producer extraordinaire] did a really bang-up job on the production so we're really excited about it. After accepting that this record wouldn't be out until 2007, it was really easy to just settle down and put into perspective what we needed to do with the record."
