PAPA ROACH Singer: New Album Is 'Some Of The Most Powerful Music We've Written'

August 19, 2008

The Pulse of Radio reports: PAPA ROACH's new album, titled "Metamorphosis", is nearly finished and the band hopes to have it in stores before the end of the year, according to FMQB.com. The band's fifth major label release will follow up 2006's "The Paramour Sessions". Frontman Jacoby Shaddix hinted at what he's talking about in his lyrics this time around: "Pretty much the title says it, you know. 'Metamorphosis', change, evolution — personally, mentally, spiritually, physically, you know, everything. That's really a running theme in our music and in our band and in my life, is always changing for the better or changing for the worse, but always changing, you know, 'cause if I stay on the same wavelength with my life it just gets boring."

Shaddix told FMQB.com that "Metamorphosis" is "definitely a diverse record, and some of the most powerful music we've written."

The disc will mark the recording debut with PAPA ROACH of ex-UNWRITTEN LAW drummer Tony Palermo, who replaced founding drummer Dave Buckner last year after Buckner went down with substance abuse issues.

PAPA ROACH is currently on the road with MÖTLEY CRÜE, BUCKCHERRY and others as part of Crüe Fest, which stops on Tuesday (August 19) in Cincinnati.

Jayme Foxx of Altitude conducted an interview with Jacoby Shaddix at the San Bernardino, California stop of Crüe Fest '08 on August 2, 2008 at San Manuel Amphitheater. Watch the three-minute chat below.
