PAUL GILBERT: New Instrumental Track Available For Download

March 8, 2008

A new Paul Gilbert (ex-MR. BIG, RACER X) solo track, entitled "Bultaco Saturno", is available for download at this location. The song comes off Gilbert's new CD, "Silence Followed by A Deafening Roar", which is scheduled for release in Europe on March 31 via Mascot Records. The album, which was released in Japan on January 23, features "11 new tracks of my most ferocious, emotional, musical, and creative guitar playing ever," according to Gilbert.

The musicians on the album are as follows::

Paul Gilbert: Guitar
Mike Szuter: Bass
Jeff Bowders: Drums
Emi Gilbert: B3 and Piano

Says Gilbert: "If I had to use one word to describe the new album... well, that would be impossible. And actually, so is most of the guitar playing. But above all, my goal was to make the album ROCK so I can have more good tunes to add to my LIVE show."

Gilbert composes music in a wide variety of styles including pop, rock, metal, blues, jazz, funk and classical, but is perhaps best known for his versatility and speed, which helped him be named as one of the "Top 10 Shredders Of All Time" by Guitar One magazine. He is also considered to be one of the best proponents of alternate picking, tapping and string skipping.
