PEARL JAM: First Tour Dates Announced

PEARL JAM have announced the first leg of their 2006 worldwide tour. The trek is scheduled to kick off May 9 in Toronto and wrap up on June 3 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. MY MORNING JACKET will open on this leg of the tour. The rest of the band's 2006 touring plans will be announced in the coming weeks.

Due on May 2, PEARL JAM's self-titled new album will be the band's studio debut for J Records. It's the follow-up to 2002's Epic swan song "Riot Act", which has sold less than 500,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD was produced and mixed by Adam Kasper and PEARL JAM at Studio X in Seattle.
