PERRY FARRELL's SATELLITE PARTY Goes Green
May 2, 2007Launch Radio Networks reports: Former JANE'S ADDICTION frontman Perry Farrell's new band, SATELLITE PARTY, will release its debut disc on May 29 in what a press release described as "an entirely eco-friendly, green form." The digipack containing the CD will be made exclusively out of recycled paper, while the disc itself will be carbon-neutral. All the estimated carbon dioxide produced by the manufacture, shipping and packaging of the record will be offset by the construction of renewable energy projects.
SATELLITE PARTY also features former EXTREME guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, while the album contains guest appearances from RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS bassist Flea and guitarist John Frusciante, BLACK EYED PEAS singer Fergie and others.
The first single from the CD is called "Wish upon a Dog Star". A video for the track premiered on Yahoo! Music on Tuesday (May 1).
The band will perform on CBS-TV's "Late Show with David Letterman" on June 5, and has scheduled a residency on "Last Call with Carson Daly" for June 12, June 13, June 14 and June 15.
