PETER CRISS' 'Kiss Meets The Phantom Of The Park' Vest, Robe Being Auctioned
April 28, 2007An original vest and robe worn by KISS drummer Peter Criss during the making of the 1978 "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park" movie are being auctioned via eBay.
This Peter Criss "Phantom" vest (auction page) originally came from the Vinnie Gonzales collection in the early '90s. Gonzales reportedly had a massive KISS collection containing many KISS costume items, stage items and other memorabilia that you can only get if you know the band members personally.
This Peter Criss "Phantom" robe (auction page) was originally purchased along with the other three "Phantom" robes from the KISS auction that was held at Paramount Studios Theater, Hollywood, California on June 24, 2000.
"Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park" was one of America's most succesful TV movies and was shown in cinemas in other countries a year later. An IMDb plot summary for the film reads as follows: "The tale of rock band KISS and their efforts to thwart a diabolical plan by mad scientist Abner Devereaux. Devereaux has found a way to clone humans into robots in his laboratory at an amusement park. It just so happens that he plans to uses the KISS concert as a platform to unleash his plan on the world. KISS must use their special powers to stop him."
