PHILIP ANSELMO Slams NFL, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED Over 'Bountygate' (Video)

June 6, 2012

In a recent interview with Artisan News, former PANTERA and current DOWN vocalist Philip Anselmo slammed the National Football Leage, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Sports Illustrated magazine for their handling of the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal, widely dubbed Bountygate. You can see Anselmo's comments below.

According to Wikipedia, Bountygate was an incident in which several defensive players on the National Football League's New Orleans Saints were found to have operated a slush fund that paid out bonuses, or "bounties," for in-game performance in violation of NFL rules. The pool was in operation from 2009 (the year in which the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV) to 2011. Among other things, Saints players earned bonuses for inflicting injuries on opposing players that forced them to leave games.
