PISSING RAZORS, SINGLE BULLET THEORY, DOWNSET, SEVEN WITCHES Members Form THE DOWNTRODDEN

December 20, 2007

Matt Difabio (guitar; PISSING RAZORS, SINGLE BULLET THEORY),Andre Acosta (vocals; PISSING RAZORS),Chris Hamilton (drums; DEADBOLT, IN RUIN, CRISIS, DOWNSET, MEDICATION, BLOODSIMPLE, SAINT CAINE) and Bill Mez (bass; SEVEN WITCHES) have joined forces in a new band called THE DOWNTRODDEN.

PISSING RAZORS disbanded in 2004. However, the concept of a new record was always talked about by Difabio and Acosta. Due to scheduling conflicts with both SINGLE BULLET THEORY and Andre's new band (SPEED RAZOR),it seemed impossible for the two to ever put together this new group. Now approaching 2008, the time has come for THE DOWNTRODDEN.

The search began for the ultimate drummer for this project — someone who knows exactly what the sound of the band needs. Enter Chris Hamilton.

"I havent seen anyone work as hard in this business as Chris," states Difabio. "He is without a doubt one of the hardest-hitting and accurate drummers I have ever seen play."

Rounding out THE DOWNTRODDEN's bottom end is longtime companion to Difabio, Bill Mez. Bill cut his teeth in this business back in the late Nineties and early 2000s playing on the first three SEVEN WITCHES records and doing extensive touring with SINGLE BULLET THEORY. Bill is a powerhouse player that can be compared only to the likes of Jason Newsted or Nikki Sixx. His playing is spot-on and in the pocket like few can recreate.

THE DOWNTRODDEN will be recording its debut in late January 2008 and will be shopping the disc to interested labels thereafter.
